The main factory includes stores, chassis prep, manufacturing and assembly. With in excess of 200 employees, UVModular has a programme of continuous improvement which is achieved by training and quality control – we recruit apprentices who undergo a rigorous pre-build educational process followed by hands-on experience working with the most highly skilled members of the coach building team A Manufacturing Improvement Team works with key operators to ensure processes are adhered to and quality is maintained. This team deals with the initial organisation of the line, sets standard hours and provides ongoing support in problem solving and continuous improvement. Three production lines produce 7 frontline A&E vehicles and 4 Mobility Buses per week on a single shift.

Lean Manufacturing and 5S have been part of the overall changes and improvements brought to the company by new recruits from within the industry and a programme of continuous improvement is pursued at every level.

Factory Two produces all GRP components for both Ambulance and Bus builds along with the Development Department which consists of 4 of the top design engineers who produce new products for the company from initial design through to moulds and assembly methods.

This team ensures each new build is production ready and work with shop floor personnel to guide the first batch down the line with precision.
